In 2002 the National Association of REALTORS® started a Resort Real Estate Committee. The purpose of this committee is to provide the RESORT practitioner with the knowledge & skills necessary to provide the special attention to the resort purchaser. Among the knowledge required is a working knowledge of international tax law, knowledge of 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges and other related topics.
Ken Libby of Stowe Realty was chosen to be one of 42 REALTORS® nationally to serve on this committee. He attended the 1st RESORT Real Estate Symposium in Los Cabos San Lucas, Mexico in February of 2003 and in November of 2003, he attended the first two day training for the RESORT real estate specialist in San Francisco. As of February of 2004, Ken is the only broker in Vermont who has taken this training.
